In 1893 Samuel Whitmore established The Whitmore Manufacturing Company in Cleveland Ohio. The first products produced were industrial belt dressings. As Cleveland evolved into a center of automobile production, the company switched to production of lubricants for those early vehicles. The company’s entrée into lubricants for mining operations came with the building of the Panama Canal. Mining remained the sole focus until the 1980’s, when Food Machinery lubricants and products for the Rail Industry were added.

Today The Whitmore Group remains a force in the lubricants market, with a strong emphasis on highly loaded equipment. Our commitment is to listen to the customer and meet the needs of the marketplace.
