Rotary Kiln - Ohio
Why we were called:
Customer was looking for an alternative to help extend the service life of the gears for a couple of years until they could be replaced. They also needed to reduce waste lubricant generated by used, open gear lubricant.
What we saw:
The gears were severely worn on a 4-pier lime kiln using major manufacturer liquid, open gear lubricant.
How we helped:
We installed a new lubrication system to lubricate all three kilns at once. Isolation valves were installed to control lubricant flow to kilns that were off-line.
Since our application, no gears have been changed since conversion.
